THAT, this House adopts the Report of the Departmental Committee on Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations on its consideration of the Defence Cooperation Agreements, laid on the Table of the House on Thursday, 2nd April 2026, and pursuant to the provisions of section 8(4) of the Treaty Making and Ratification Act, Cap 4D, approves the Ratification of the following Defence Cooperation Agreements – (a) Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kenya and the Government of the French Republic, subject to reservations on Articles 9.5, 13.3 and inclusion of new articles on community relations, environmental protection and training areas; (b) Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kenya and the Government of the Czech Republic, subject to reservations on Article 14 and inclusion of a new provision on jurisdiction; (c) Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kenya and the Government of the People’s Republic of China, subject to reservations on Article 10.2.2 and inclusion of a new provision on training areas; (d) Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kenya and the Government of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia, subject to reservations on Article 11; and (e) Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kenya and the Government of the Republic of Zimbabwe, subject to reservations on Article 11.5 and inclusion of new articles on environmental protection and training areas.
